Story is a powerful way to bring to life what is hard to see but very human within us. Across time and place, mythology has been used as a way to help us understand and orient ourselves in our life’s journey. The purpose of storytelling is not to tell you how to think but to offer reflections with which to ponder. Connect and explore across many lineages, refining your skills in sharing stories and myths that resonate personally with your students. Story is a spiritual practice in itself, as well as a beautiful portal to meaning-making.
Learn to live, practice and teach in deep intimacy with nature and yourself through the ancient and often misunderstood wisdom of Tantra Yoga, one of yoga’s original paths and practices as art, science, healing, and liberation. In Sanskrit, Tantra means “weaving” or “interconnection.” It comes from the root tan, meaning “to extend” or “to expand.” It is a path of ritual and practice to awaken creative energy, or, shakti.. The objective of Tantric training is to transcend the barriers of duality: body and spirit, holy and unholy, dark and light, as a means to reveal our true Self. Tantra Yoga uses Asana, pranayama, mudras, mantra, and yantras as rituals to connect to Shakti in Her countless forms. We’ll explore the Dasha Maha Vidya Yoga (the yoga of the Ten Great Wisdoms) as the lens through which to practice.
Build a practice of devotion through awareness. Explore what lights you up – mantra, poetry, mudras, creative movement – it’s all welcome on the divine dance floor! This is about remembering joy and finding our own unique rhythm of reverence.
The potency of a quiet practice cannot be understated. Meet yourself within yourself, in these longer held poses, and stay a while. We’ll play with not only the poses but creative ways to hold these nurturing spaces including weaving in story! This practice is the medicinal antidote to much of our busy modern lives.
