SOMA

Remembering our way Home

June 25th - Sept 7th, 2025

Our bodies contain our entire story. Because we’re all subject to the messy human condition, we naturally seek ways to protect ourselves. Oftentimes these work for the short term, but cause disconnection in the long term. Soma is a fresh perspective through a trauma informed lens, to remember our own way home, and to both live and teach from a compassionate understanding of our shared humanness.

The explorations

Explore the ecologies of both trauma & resilience and how each shows up individually, culturally & intergenerationally.  Understanding our tender, dynamic & collective human experience allows for us to truly show up for one another with a ruthless sort of kindness. Embody trauma conscious teaching and utilize Internal Family Systems/ parts work as self exploration.

Soma invites you to become fluent in the language of your nervous system. This superpower cannot be understated!  We will go deeper into the nuances of PolyVagal Theory & explore the potent wellspring of self, eco & community resourcing.

Looking through the lenses of both philosophy & science, you’ll uncover a holistic approach to craving, attachment & desire – aka suffering. We’re all recovering from something. Explore a reconnection & rediscovery with your innate wholeness through a compassionate view of our very human experience.

This forever relevant exploration embodies honesty & non-violence to support the investigation of social inequity & systems of oppression both on & off the mat. You’ll learn what it means to truly practice radical inclusion in the classroom, in life, in your minds & your heart.

Somatics guides us to a true embodiment as well as putting trauma & PolyVagal theory into practice! We’ll explore myriad methods of supporting the development of deep internal perception & the mind-body connection through movement, visualization & felt sense awareness.  While asana is a somatic practice, we will cast a much wider net to include concepts & practices such as titration, pendulation, interoceptive resourcing & free movement to support ourselves as well as our students navigate the complex inner world of both safety & tension.
